As expected, the state record rainbow trout came from the Koke’e area on the island of Kaua’i. Mark I. Sueyasu caught his 5-lb 10.56-oz fish while dunking a worm in Kawaikoi Stream on August 7, 1991. He was using a Shimano rod and reel combo and 4-lb test line.
